Trivia or interesting facts from today's travels:

Once again, the day starts out well behind schedule. We didnt
get up until almost noon local time (3pm Eastern) I guess that was fair, since we didnt get in last night until about 4am (7am Eastern). We spent the night last night at Mario's house. Ray was awakened by Mario's kids checking out to see who the new body was in their house. One of the dogs even got
in on the act, Maggie came and gave him an across the face slurp trying to wake him up. Nobody disturbed me, I've been there several times before and I guess they recognized me and left me alone. By the time we got ready and went to lunch with Mario & his family, it was almost 3pm. We headed out on I-10 towards El Paso. We made it to around Tucson before detouring into Saguaro National Park to see the sights.
That was an interesting little side trip into the desert. Southern Arizona and New Mexico are the most desolate places we've been yet. Desert as far as you can see. It's HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT too. We stopped at a little tourist trap store and bought some junk. I'm going to be growing cactus & hot peppers when I get home. We hit El Paso around 10pm & even though it was dark, we got a great view of Mexico across the river... Ummm yeah! We drove until midnight
and went through another Border Patrol Inspection station. (our 2nd for the trip) It's ok, we made it through! So here we are, in a small town where there is nothing for 120 miles in every direction. So... until tomorrow, good bye from small town, Tx USA.
