Trivia or interesting facts from today's travels:

Today, also started out behind schedule. We've slipped a bit.
We were not only behind, but got a late start. We got caught in traffic several times in L.A. Finally, we made it down to Long Beach and did a 3 hr tour of the Queen Mary. Unfortunately, after we finished up in Long Beach, it was rush hour in L.A. so we spent even more time sitting in traffic.
A few hours later we were about half way between Los Angeles and San Diego. We stopped on the freeway just after the immigration check point and took pictures of the beach. We made it into San Diego and went across the bridge to Coronado. About 5 miles shy of the Mexican border, we turned back north for another view of San Diego. We officially began our eastward trek when we got on I-8 towards Phoenix.
We drove until about midnight and found ourselves at a stopping point in El Centro Ca. Hmm... what a place... reminds me of the 60's & early 70's in this motel room. The people in the next room came by to warn us that they were going to be having a loud party, but they'd try to not be too loud & please would we not have them thrown out. Well, at least they were courteous to let us know the potential for loud would be there. Onward to Phoenix tomorrow!
